“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
— John 1:4-5
As followers of Christ, we have the promise of life—a life that is the light of all mankind. Praise HIM!
This time last year, I was in the thick of grief. If you’ve ever experienced any type of grief, you know that it can be dark. The days are dark, and often, the nights are even darker. I found myself constantly begging for life, constantly begging the Lord to show me light and love. The reality was, He was already doing so. He was present. I thought the darkness had overcome me, but God said I was loved, I was seen, and I was called into the light. He never left me to sit in the darkness alone.
Our God is light. Our God is love. He never leaves us in the darkness. He is bigger than our pain and our suffering. Our God is pulling us from the darkness into His beautiful light. What a blessing.
As we move into the Christmas season, some are grieving. Some are dreading the holidays. But as Christians, we have the hope of light. Our Savior was sent from Heaven to be born of a virgin and to be the light of the world. Cling to that hope, my friend!
