Baptism

Baptism

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

When a person turns away from their sin and confesses Christ as Lord, they are a new creation. Scripture tells us that we who were once dead in our trespasses have been made alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5).

Baptism is a celebration of the grace of God in your life that has occurred through salvation. As believers, we believe that we are called to follow Christ in the example He set for us as He was baptized by immersion (Matthew 3:13-17).

If you are a believer and desire to join the Colonial Heights family, and haven't yet been baptized, we would LOVE to connect with you to discuss scheduling your baptism. As baptism is one of the two ordinances of our church (the other observing the Lord's Supper), each member must be baptized in order to join.
