Focus Verse: Matthew 24:14

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
– Matthew 24:14

We don’t know when Jesus will return, but He tells us to be prepared. How do we know if we are prepared? Do we know Him? A relationship with Jesus is the only preparation we need. It’s tempting to focus on Scripture that talks about the future, particularly the end times, and try to figure out when He will return. But Jesus tells us that it is impossible for us to know. In fact, He says that even He does not know when He will return—only the Father knows.
Jesus warns us to “stay awake and not be lulled to sleep by the world.” We are to continue sharing the gospel—His hope, love, and peace. No matter how good or how difficult things get, when we know Him, we can trust Him. And when we trust Him, we can have an assurance that only He can bring. As His children, we do not need to be afraid. Our eternal future with Jesus is secure.
Revelation 7:9–10 says, “…every nation, tribe, people, and language standing before the throne and before the Lamb…crying with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.’”
Jesus has not come back yet. Until He does, His gospel needs to keep reaching peoples and nations. It needs to be shared with those we know, and it must go to those who have never heard.
Father, help us to live with boldness and open hearts to proclaim You and Your gospel.--
