Dear God,
You have been the perfect display of a father. You are always wise in your decisions and righteous in your discipline. Thank you for providing such a perfect example for me. Guide me in all of my steps as I seek to lead my children well.
Help me, O God, love my children by pointing them to you. Give me the strength to sacrifice my desires for theirs as I also seek to show them your Word.
May my children know you as Savior and follow you as Lord. May they always know that their priority is you and that their identity is found in Christ.
On long days, when I am tired, grant me patience, gentleness, and self-control as I seek to exemplify the fruit of the Spirit. At times of needed discipline may I demonstrate kindness, humility, and grace while still holding them accountable for sin.
Help me recall that I need to be a good listener, not a fixer. Help me remember that you are indeed the steady anchor. As I seek to protect each of them from harm may they each know that you are their forever strong tower and their fortress in times of trouble.
Draw me to yourself, dear God, and clothe me with your righteousness that my children might see you when they look at my life.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer and answering according to your will.
